While we struggle here on earth to try to make sense of the myriad fake Indian tribes and pop-up eastern Metis nations, a Russian billionaire weapons manufacturer has decided to use his money to become hereditary chief of space.
Igor Raufovich Ashurbeyli couldn't buy his own country here on earth, so instead he rented a Palace in Vienna, Austria, staged a ceremony in which he declared himself head of state of the "Space Kingdom of Asgardia," and launched a satellite into space for a cool $700,000.
Is there any way this could be legitimate? Can you just declare yourself king of space as simply as you can declare yourself chief of your own pan-indigenous nation here on earth? No. Not really.
But that hasn't stopped Ashurbeyli from forming his own government, selecting members for his space parliament, and drafting a constitution that gives him all the powers of a self-declared hereditary Metis chief.
So, if buying a membership in the latest newly-minted Metis group or Indian tribe here on earth seems passe, you can apply for citizenship on their official website HERE.
